Hard hitting campaign launches Programme

Each year in the UK about 3,500 people are killed on our roads and 40,000 are seriously injured. Each one results in terrible pain and suffering.

A significant proportion of these deaths and injuries are work related. Accidents involving Heavy Goods Vehicles, buses, company cars and van drivers etc.. Experts estimate that one in three fatalities involve a vehicle being driven for work. Research has shown that sleepiness is responsible for 20% of accidents on motorways in the UK. Death tolls from sleep-related road accidents are three times higher than other accidents, because the drivers do not swerve or apply their brakes.

In order to determine the level of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea within the haulage sector in the UK Respironics - SASA have devised a screening, diagnostic and therapy programme for Freight and other transport companies. For further information on how you can arrange these screening services or for an initial information pack click here>.
